“From the Flokatis of my 70’s youth to the Beni Ourains I discovered the first time I went to Morocco, shaggy rugs have always appealed to me. My latest obsession is Tulus - which have been woven in Turkey for over 100 years. Similar in construction to those made in the Atlas Mountains, the Turkish rugs sometimes come in surprising combinations of colors. The patterns are bolder, ranging from a simple border, to zig zags to stylized foliate motifs. Apart from the plushness of the rugs, I was drawn to the loose geometric patterns that really show the hand of the weaver” - Tom Delavan
