How we see it

At Beni, we value the practice of rumination and the courage it takes to see the forest through the trees. We swim against algorithms, sedimentary beliefs, and self-serious sophistication. In spirit and place, Beni is a company where ancient tradition bends, but never breaks, in the name of innovation and progress.

Sales Coordinator

A brand advocate with heart, sound values, and great expectations

If you’re new to our world, please take some time to explore it before applying for this position. It’s vital for us that the person in the shoes of this role, and every role in the company, feels a genuine connection to our practice, its output, and its impact.

The Role

At the root of it, we think of salespeople as gardeners — optimistic, determined, and patient, they tend to their strategies like seedlings that will one day grow into something beautiful. Does this sound like you? We’re looking for a Sales Coordinator in New York City who values the way we see things and understands the difference our studio hopes to make in this industry where the past is woven into the present.

Like the warp and weft of our rugs, an impressive salesperson is someone who offers repeating patterns of intention in their work. Creativity, kindness, authenticity; quick feet, and clever instincts. The art of selling, fostering, and growing business is an inherently personal trade, one that allows our team to offer humanity over machinery in a world where “fast” gets all the attention.

As our Sales Coordinator, you would be the glue that holds our home office together, supporting efforts to introduce Beni to like-minds in both the trade and direct-to-consumer spaces by ensuring our space is a welcome respite from the city and liaising with a myraid of clients and partners. Connecting the dots between our world and the role it could play in someone else's should get your wheels turning. Going beyond customer “service,” we want our clients to feel seen, understood and cared for.

What You'll Do

In this role, you’ll play a supporting role in expanding our reach within the design community, working with trade clients like interior designers, architects, and contractors, while also ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for our DTC customers. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our home office is always ready to generously host our clients and that these same clients are treated like part of the Beni family. To conduct this role with equal parts joy and tact, you should be excited by design and sales.

  • Support the sales team across both D2C and trade channels
  • Coordinate sample and swatch requests
  • Create invoices, draft quotes, and manage follow-ups
  • Assist with showroom appointments and client interactions
  • Maintain showroom cleanliness, organization, and stock of supplies
  • Manage gifting initiatives, from concept to execution
  • Build and maintain target outreach lists
  • Create and update pricing sheets and sales collateral

Who You Are

  • You have an earnest appreciation for interior design and a keen understanding of how beautifully-crafted products can transform a space and the people within it.
  • You possess exceptional attention to detail
  • You are highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You're comfortable working independently while staying aligned with team goals
  • Bonus: experience in a showroom, design brand, or luxury retail setting
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you can make an immediate and significant impact. You believe that rising tides raise all boats.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation: $60-75k base salary, commensurate with experience.
  • A dynamic, creative environment: At Beni, creativity and personality is valued, innovation is encouraged, and your contributions are recognized, with ample opportunities for growth and development.
  • Comprehensive benefits: we offer generous paid time off, including vacation days, sick/personal time, and company holidays, along with a monthly stipend to support your medical coverage, ensuring flexibility and promoting your overall well-being. We love what we do and respect the team of people that make it all possible.

If this sounds like a role that was tailor-made for you, please send your resume to careers@benirugs.com along with a note that speaks to your interest in both the position and in Beni. We would love to hear from you.
