The defining feature of Flamingo Estate is this otherworldly brick staircase that cascades down each level of lush gardens to the property's orchard. It's so beloved that there's a rug dedicated to its charm. Shop the Orchard Staircase rug.
In Lou Reed's infamous anthem, Walk on the Wild, he preaches a chorus of joyous rebellion, creative expression and unbuttoned freedom. Originally inspired by Nelson Algren's 1956 novel, A Walk on the Wild Side, Reed ran with the idea, weaving in real-life characters who he met in New York's underground art scene circa 1970-something (what a time to be alive) at Andy Warhol's studio. Flashing forward to the here and now, our collaboration with Flamingo Estate shares this rambunctious essence, coming alive through 16 plush and eccentric rugs, each designed with pure pleasure in mind. The charming tile-accented roofline of Flamingo Estate makes its way onto this rug's edges as a subtle yet striking detail. Its plush Atlas makeup is perfect for afternoon naps during the dog days of summer. Shop the rug.
High atop the hills of Los Angeles, Flamingo Estate is an enclave of sun-worship, folk mythologies, and psychedelic remedies. It was founded by Richard Christiansen, seen here in goat company, in 2020.
"Beni and Flamingo Estate care about the same foundations: craftsmanship, quality, and things made the right way, not the fast way."
The fountain that inspired this rug's design can be found hidden away in the depths of Flamingo Estate. You'd have to search its seven acres to sniff it out.
The Flower Room at the Estate is a place where we would happily spend the entire summer. Shown here is Pavillon Tiles, a rug inspired by the cleverly contrasting geometric tile patterns found all over the property. Shop the rug.
Shown here in a reflective bathhouse, Flower Floor's design presents a grid of squares inspired by the architectural details of Flamingo Estate's west coast headquarters.
